newbie with questions that need answering.....

hello Everyone. New guy here, and just bought my first mk3 gti tonite. The car is absolutely mint, borbet deep dish, nice body kit, smoked rears, full stainless, induction kit etc with shed loads of history..........but..............two immediate problems.
1. when setting the alarm(cobra 7295?) the windows drop slightly??!!?? why

2. should my sunroof tilt and slide or just tilt, as it currently does??

oh yeah.... and do i have abs fitted as standard because no light comes on.?

2.. have you got T+S  buttons? (i have both..)


you can tell if you have ABS if there is an ABS light to the right of the steering wheel.. its working if it comes on when you first start the car, then goes out (just like the airbags light)..

what year is your mk3, and is a 'gti' (8v) or a '16v gti' ?

Would have thought sunroof would be both T and S. has it got the small round button for tilt and then a rocker button either side to open and close the roof (open slide but close tilt or slide)

its a `94 mk3 8v gti. no space on dash for abs is marked out.??!!?? a rocker switch which just works the tilt. whats that about a small wheel

also, my drivers window,electric, only works in 3 inch pulses??  any ideas on that one guys.

The ABS light sits on a piece of plastic with the airbag warning light to the right of the headlight switch.

lol lol lol, airbag ??  windbag(the mrs. more like) i dont have the airbag either, think it was too early. :'(
Theres no other lights by the headlight switch or even switches except for a rocker switch that the previous owner had wired to his err...ermmmm.......washer jets for the leds, saddo.

Yo Toonraider, your sunroof's prob the same as mine, the one button does both tilt and slide, try pushing it backwards!!! I had my GTI for about a fortnight before I realised it slid as well as tilted, doh!

woo hooo !!!! simple things eh? arnt they amazing., i do have tilt and slide. Thanx for the tip.
