Drove past Wayside in Milton Keynes on Saturday - they've got 3 x GTi's with '10' plates in their yard ready to go; must have been ordered sometime late. More

I spend a fair amount of time in Milton Keynes and I reckon that's where the shortage of Golfs are.. They're everywhere including a pretty tidy black 10 plate GTI which passed me heading onto the M1 Jct 12 on Sunday.. Surely it's just a coincidence that VW UK's HO is based there

My build week has also gone back again, from week 12 back to week 15. (ordered GTI 5 door, dsg, 29th October)

Only upside is VW customer services confirmed they would honour the VAT difference by discounting the car by another 2.5%. Both VW and my dealer also confirmed I would be getting a "support" vehicle in March till it arrives. And finally also some form of goodwill...

Phone call from dealer today..............

My car has arrived at the dealership!!!! Didn't have a chance to get there today and looks like the earliest will be Thursday. So we're def on for a 01st March delivery. Also now got figures for finance so looks good to go.

Got some surprisingly good news from my dealer yesterday.

Unconfirmed build week was 14 and later 15, now it´s confirmed build week 9 

Spec:
GTI, tornado red, man, Detroit 18', 5dr.

Just been chasing them every week for an update. They had always mentioned they were looking at the VAT discount, but yesterday was the first time someone at VW confirmed it. They said the dealer would discount the car themselves by the 2.5% then claim this back from VW? As for a loan car, I had been reading on here about the 20 week rule being from when the car was due - so didn't have my hopes up but both dealer and VW confirmed I would get one in March.
