Starting to get board now, and eyes are starting to wander to other shiney toys . Stuggeling between hanging in, GTI is actually going to the wife or as a shopping car, however thinking hmmm...... maybe... how about a 4 door M3 (V8 sounds sweet, but would just would need to drive with a paper bag on head), or maybe an ML oil burner (again with a paper bag on head so don't get swampy, leave\nut eating enviromentalist types in getting upset at me. I'll make sure it's one of them reusable shopping bags to be nice).

The Dealer said Mid march build week, then 2 weeks delivery so worst case late march or first week in April.

Ah bugger....
I did chuckle when on mock the week that they felt sorry for people with 4x4's. All the show was the first time they could validate one for the school run, but couldn't use them as the school closed lol.

I had an unconfirmed build week of 9. It then moved to 12 and has now moved to 20 !!
The dealer says it's common for the unconfirmed build weeks to move around and they seem to change almost weekly. anyone else been told this ?

I really would like the Golf but i'm not sure i want to wait this long.
my company car policy states my car has to be under 5 years and although they have been quite flexible on this i promised i'd get a new one soon last october and my cars now 8 years old, so VW are not helping by tempting me with the golf gti and then not been able to deliver in a reasonable time scale.

anyone had a unconfirmed build week that then came closer ?

Your dealer is a liar!  I told you this when you ordered a few weeks ago that you'd NEVER get your car by March.  Looks like I was right.

To my knowlefge my order still hasn't even been ordered since I placed it in October - no allocations.  It annoys me how others can order cars and even get them before mine can even be put in the queue that is just worng. March/April/May pah try August/September/October.

^^^ - I think you'll find [as oft posted] it's down to dealer allocation.

If a dealer has cars available to order from VW then they can place your order and you'll then sit in the queue for a build week. If not then you wait til they have ... simple really, but the dealer has to be upfront before he takes your loot!.

I'm still waiting for a BW but I knew there'd be a delay [zzzz] as the dealer didn't have any allocation.

Well i assume he had allocation as he gave me a build number so i assume it's in a queue but just not confirmed yet. As for the loot he hasn't got any. I initially had an order with another dealer and placed £1000 deposit, they couldn't order by end of Dec so i cancelled and got my money back and ordered with Stoke-on-trent VW but they said they didn't need a deposit. So i guess it;s easy for me to cancel as i have nothing to lose. However i'd rather wait for now, in the hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Sorry - yes, one 'step' ommitted:

The dealer can give you a commission number and that then goes in VW system. Before it turns in to a build week it needs to allocated to a monthly schedule.

Your dealer is a liar!

Isn't that normal thing for car dealers to do (otherwise where do they get their reputation lol). So far my experiance about VW dealers on this and my current car has been 100% fail!
