At last I've got BW10 (albeit unconfirmed)!

My BW10 obviously wasn't confirmed, as its moved to BW09 now 
The dealer said I should get it mid / end of March.  I hope it moves back to a BW07 or 08 so that I can get it the second week in March (I'm on holiday the 1st week!)

I was talking to someone at VWcs yesterday and they said week 05 cars were been confirmed this past week on Tuesday and Thursday and next week they expect week 6 cars to be and so on.

Hopefully snoopy. I was BW07, but that was a couple of weeks ago when i asked at the dealers. I think i will leave it until the start of February to avoid getting my hopes built for nothing.

My take on this.

VW reduced their production because of reduced demand in the recession.
Therefore their suppliers were forced to reduce output also.
VW are now having some problems with suppliers who can't (or won't) meet their demands.

You can't really blame VW for cutting back in a recession - the worst possible thing for them would be to have over supply and loads of cars unsold at the ports/factories. It takes time to adjust to increased demand for the manufacturers and the suppliers.

Also I think VW are a little conservative and are trying to keep supply slightly below current demand. Hence the delays.

The GTI is a brilliant car and worth waiting for.

LOL. Haven't heard that one for a while.

I think we're all in the same boat at the minute right enough. It seems a bit of a lottery no matter when you order

I've not had an update from dealer since my order (but I expected this as we discussed it was no point calling me until Feb, closer to the expected date (1st March). Ignorance is bliss in this case as not got worked up about build week changes etc lom. However, now it's getting closer to the delivery date (was told could have it in mid Feb if I wanted but have held out for 1st march and new reg), starting to think about calling up to ask how things are.... like an ostridge with it's head sand you could say

Think I'll give them a call later today for a sitrep... place your bets now.... ordered 22nd Oct, was told (but not sure if confirmed or not) BW03......

I ordered a little bit later (31 October) and was promised delivery 1st March... Hadn't heard anything either since ordering so I called my dealer last week for an update and i'm looking at BW10...
