You've got the leather, haven't you?  I must say I'm very pleased with the cloth.

I think that says a lot, because I was dead set on leather when I started looking, and I usually think cloth interiors are naff squared.  For the Golf to have persuaded me away from leather due to the quality of the cloth says a lot for the interior in general.

shame the 1 looks ugly, but is this is any good, this would be a serious threat to the R

I've got a taxed, MOTed and insured BMW two seater in the garage.
It's just as quick as my GTI.

But it never comes out of the garage.
Currently digging a bunker.

At those prices i would say so.... but BMW will be charging a fortune for any extras. Atleast with BMW you know they very rarely bring out a bigger and better version of their M cars, unlike the golf  :lipsrsealed:

A 135i remapped will destroy an R though and is cheaper to buy now, hell even a standard one would leave it behind!

Well i am quite sure thats why Audi will reserve the ultimate hot hatch title for the new audi rs3. Althought there are unconfirmed rumours BMW will be launching an all out assault with a M1 coupe

I had a deposit down September for a Golf R as I like the security of 4wd in the winter months but as it won't be available to February/March looked elsewhere and have just done a deal on a FQ330 SST pre-registered dealer stock with Service pack 59 Plate 75 Miles has a list price of over £36500 (Inc Mats & MSP) Purchased for £29500 not as well built as VW but with a list of std equipment that would put the golf in to the high £30K band and performance figures that even the best remap couldn’t get close too makes a very serious alternative to the Golf R although against it is it’s high road fund licence and thirst for super unleaded. Also moved my £500 Deposit to a Scirocco R as we will be needing a second Car replacement next March/April and think it represents better value than the Golf.
