I chickened out and went for silver, it hides the dirt the best and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when parked up. My last Golf was Steel (United) Grey. That too was easy to look after and was discreet.
I love the look of the mk6 in red and white too, but in my very humble opinion both of these colours need the Shadow Monzas to contrast with their paint jobs.
Black looks lovely just after you clean it, for the other 99.9% of the time it looks dirty. My other car is black, my Dad's car is black and my sister has just ordered a black car. The two former just look like they need a wash all of the time, I told my sister she was daft ordering black and she told me to 'go away' or something vaguely similar.
