2 biting points .... uh oh
« on: 31 October 2009, 21:50 »
Hi chaps, something odd is going on with my clutch, my guess is that its coming to the end of its life.

Recently when you engage the clutch (in or out of gear), just as you lift the pedal from the floor, it bites - but not with enough strength to move the car - so it just drops again, then as you raise it further, it bites again - this time it works fine and drives like normal.

When driving normally - it doesn't feel like it is slipping, but its just odd that it bites at the bottom, then breaks off, then bites properly. The cable is only about 2 years old and fairly well adjusted (more like guesswork by me )

Any thoughts?

Pressure plate U/S by the sounds of it :lipsrsealed: though it could be worth whipping the clutch cable off to see if its sticking...
