g60 camshaft in 8v digi??

i have searched this, but im not getting any straight answers, would a g60 camshaft in any way be an improvement over my standard 89 spec 1.8 8v digi gti?

no. G60 is boost engine, yours is NA.

A 264 or 268 degree camshaft in an 8v should be more than enough. As said, the G60 is a blown engine and thus, as for all super/turbo charged engines, the camshafts have a different build pattern.

kool, thats all i needted to know, just there was a cheap g60 cam on geebay so thought it was worth a shot for 20 bux, but o well, ill just have to save up the £215 for a proper camshaft
