Dont think by one guys bad experience that all Vw Candy White paint jobs are bad. Mine in 3dr doesnt have as much as a mark anywhere. And yes it turns alot of heads and attracts lots of chavy wasps all over my back bumper.
However as a warning dont bother with White unless ur prepared to clean it everytime you use it. Mine gets filthy very quickly. The local Kosovans make a killing out of me

shock horror!!  you're not cleaning it yourself?  your pristine paintwork aint gonna be pristine for much longer!

e.g. the tyre dressing they use is prob gonna stain your paintwork.  that spray they use to loosen dirt is mega strong and will affect the wax/ polish on your car...  best to DIY...

Only had a couple of spots on my white car, now totally gone and not a mark on it.

White does get dirty quick, but with white it doesnt really show it up if you know what I mean.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Do look great in candy white. But I went for solid black (nice with a good shine). The colour poll has interesting results. I almost went for the blue

Do you notice much difference?

You must be bonkers taking it to them! the reason it looks so nice and clean when they've done it is cos the acid they use strips a layer of laquer off every time!!!!!!!

Ouch! sounds a nasty cleaning process!

Re the solid black, yes can tell the difference (well I could anyway) I bought my current mk5 in Black also for same reason, I clean mine myself, AutoGlym gives a top shine and if you put in the effort you get a fantastic deep gloss with the solid paint (sounding like a detailer now!), having said that a few times last winter took it to one of them imo washes when it was too cold (plus thinking of ice on the pathway next moring from washing day before ouch!).

This time I almost went for the white or the Blue, but then saw a black 5 door with 18 inch monza's and went wow, want one!

So you'd recommend the solid over the metallic?  Strange... not many would, but ETTO :)

Don't think you can recomend colours, as you say it's a case of each to their own. I don't like the GTI in Red but know it's very popular.

Metallic \ pearl is very nice, especially on the Blue (looks fantastic on Mk5 R32), but my own preference is for solid black over metallic black but does take more work to keep clean and has to be polished much like the white I guess. As you say ETTO.

Well, I'll think at this point I'll still go with non-ACC might, but may ask the dealer can find a demo car with AAC on to compare the two as still got a little time to change as order is for 1st March.

Interesting is the dealer says not many people have ordered it, but said sunroofs are popular (think that is because it's a little dark in the back with the tinted rear windows on the GTI. The tint is perfect for the little one so we can get rid of them naff stick on window binds from mothercare, the tint also also looks good too (nice work VW!).
