anybody know how much it would cost for new plastic trim from vw in dragon green (exterior door trims and bumpers), don't need arches..

I am 99% sure you cannot get it ready painted it will be supplied primered, it will be very expensive as well.

fair enough, when i take my arches off at the weekend i will try to paint it, sand, plastic primer, spray, lacquer..
if all goes well that will happen with all the others, so does this mean i will need new bumpers?

Would be better to get the smooth bumpers and side trims.

So you want the wide door strips and smooth/paint them?

As Wayne says it looks far better to use the GL type narrow side strips.

If you buy new that will cost you approx £112 from Eurocarparts, but a lot less if you find some in a scrappy and you may even find them in your body colour!

i want completely smooth doors but some say it looks stupid and takes alot of effort

Correct as you will need plates welding over the top.

Oh dear.

I know it's your car but I'd leave the GTI arches and side strips on. I did on my SE and it looked spot on, it broke up the green :smiley:

Hmmm I have seen this once! And I will tell you it looks absolutely gash!  :sick:

Also you will  have no protecting for car doors hitting your car, which does happen.
