where ist mein VW bottle opener??? :cry:
not that i drink at the wheel -  thing is, why did they design a bottle opener for a golf?  stupid!  ok if u can take it with u but this particular opener just so happens to be the cup holder !  now i cant put any drinks in the front cos of some vw worker nickin my bottle opener as a gift.

The 1 that i got with mine has a black plastic cover over it, is it the right 1 or have they palmed me off with 1 out of a standard golf?
The 1 in the mk5 was all chrome ?? :angry:

It changed part way through Mk5 production.

I think the reason for the bottle opener is because some pop is still sold in Germany with metal caps.

yeah all the MkVI ones are covered in black plastic.  must have been a health n safety thing... or perhaps the metals would rattle against cans?

denyason - go back to your dealer and complain, they'll prob take it out of some other poor sod's golf who doesn't have the infamous golfgti forum checklist  :grin:

Sorry if you misunderstood. What i was saying was that in the mk5 production time they went over to the plastic coated ones from the metal ones in the later years and continued this into the mk6.

May i ask do you know if we are suppose to still get the mk6 GTI manuals in this binder like the mk5 ones i have.


And are we still suppose to get the bottle of oil in the boot if on linglife service?
