Was wondering if someone could answer this for me.

After a car has had its waxing done, how can you tell when the wax is all gone and you need to re-apply ? Is it the beading of water that gives it away (If so what are you looking for exactly) or is it the run your finger on the paintwork listening for a 'squeek noise' ?

I've always looked out for the lack of beading generally as a means of knowing when a fresh coat is needed

If after washing the water no longer beads then it's time to polish/wax again. Polish if the paint feels rough (a clay might be required) and then wax.  Most waxes can be layered to increase the finish and protection.
