has anyone changed them without faults? dont go led.. that would bring problems, but probably different color... blueish..
Post pics if anyone has and ref. of the bulbs! cool

I changed mine to Philips Blue Vision, which aren't blue at all.....much nicer.

I also did the main lamp and everyone asks if they are Xenons.

can you give a ref for the lamps you used? or link to buy?

we are talking the side foglights? and the drl?

Do you have xenons? If so I don't know what fitting the DRL's are.  If you don't have Xenons then it's not possible to change your DRL bulbs as they are integrated with the main beams in a bulb called H15. You can easily turn them off yourself though (search the forum) or if you want a DRL but not yellowy, change the sidelights to bluevision H5 and drive around with your sidelights on. These bulbs are fiddly boogers to fit!

I changed my dipped beam to bluevision H7, I haven't done my fogs but I think they are also H7. Powerbulbs is a good website to use.

So in a nut shell.

If you have Xennons the DRL's are actually the main beam.

If you don't have Xennons the DRL's are a H15 yellow type bulb, that can't be replaced with something in the market yet?

Yes. Waste of a xenon bulb if you ask me. Did anyone confirm yet whether the xenon sidelight uses a W5W bulb?

Because not everyone likes autolights. The amount of times i have seen on my commute cars go under an underpass and there lights come on because there in auto and then go back off and other cars in the inside lane move over into that cars lane beacuse they think they have been flashed to move over and let people out of the slip road then you hear sudden braking and near accidents.

Thought these DRL bug*ers were meant to stop accidents?  :lipsrsealed:

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

When in Off/Auto mode Drls are on all the time so will not come on when going through tunnels etc cos they are already on and stay on, that way they dont give off the impression that you are flashing someone out

Guys,

I am new to this forum and have a Mk6 GTi ordered, black, 18" Monza's and upgraded radio.

I see on a few post people talking about the car's lights, that the front lights are quite yellow? What sort of bulbs can you buy to make them look whiter, more clear?

Should have my gti within 4 weeks, can't wait!

Thanks for your help
