Where do 1.8t prices currently stand please?

I'm told that i won't find a decent example for around £3,000 which is a bit of a bummer
but i just want some clarification whether of not i'd find a decent example, for my budget.

I've been planning this new cars for months & now if i have to save more it's going to be an extra few months
of saving.

Don't tell me what i want to hear, just tell me the truth, dammit. 

I made a similar thread a few months back but with a £2k budget.

Ive recently paid £4k for a minter on an 02 @ 84k miles

Looks really nice, looks like it came with a few neat extras too. 

How much do prices vary between the ages then? I understand the newer ones had
better turbo's, does this make a big difference.

I'm just paranoid that i won't find a good one.

I did pay £3,000 for a 2.0 Mk4 but that was back in 2006.

paid £4600 for mine 2 years ago with 46k on the clock, 1999 model

i paid £4895 for mine with 60k on the clock and almost as new condition inside & out and all mods included

Recently bought one for £3,250 with 69k on the clock. Absolutely mint, and white too, so not many around in this colour. Will post some pics when I get a chance

I paid £5k for mine a year and a half ago, only had 24k on the clock though.  Mint 1.8T.
