If its jammed open it will take ages to heat up but no harm in short term but if it's jammed shut, engine will overheat.

Does it really do damage in the end then?

I've taken one out of a mates van before as there was nothing but trouble with it. The van was on it's last legs but it never seemed to have any trouble.
Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge", auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

The issue is that the car will not warm up as it should, I have seen cats fail because of it.

I guess, on older cars it is not a big deal but on newer stuff it needs to be correct temp for all to work as it should.
