A bit off topic but in a car with ABSn if u stamp on the pedal, would the wheels lock up? Coz I didn't hear any screech, and obviously in those situations, u stamp on the brakes as hard as u can. So as far as I know, she didn't even attempt to brake, trying to gauge how fast she must have been going

With ABS the wheels can lock up but it takes some doing.

It is obviously your call. However the very fact that you are hesitating and asking for opinions on a forum indicates to me that you aren't 100% comfortable making a fake claim. Which if you cut to the chase is fraud. A fraud that costs us all money in the long run as it increases premiums to everyone so insurance companies can payout on these spurious claims. It is not a victimless crime.

I f**king hate claim culture! In my eyes, you are only worthy of a payout if you were so damaged that you couldn't work - AND your work didn't have sick pay, then you should be compensated for the number days/weeks it would take until you are better at your standard work rate.

Whilst we are "getting our cut", why not commit a little extra fraud whilst we're at it, claim a little on the house insurance, perhaps go steal some tools from halfords - after all, everyone else does it, I'm just *getting my cut*

Well said that man. There is a high degree of compensation culture at the moment along with blame and accountability culture. Make me sick.

Ok so update on the insurance claim...engineer phoned me today after assessing the car yesterday and offered me £600 (what I paid for, no mention of any receipts or anything) and I said no...I've been looking at same spec cars goin for between £800 and £1200 and he said £950, and I could buy the car back for 15%, so I get the car and £800...not a bad settlement I don't think
