Help! Crankshaft Pulley Bolt sheared! Advice

As per title, last week my crankshaft pulley bolt sheared whilst doing 80 mph on mk3 8v Gti.....
I have since taken off cam cover turned over by hand, and checked tappets rise and fall as much as possible....See valves (as much as poss) thru plug holes...
Re assembled, and put new timing belt on etc....Car now runs and ticks over fine...

But on acceleration hesitant and not right (not driving it, just testing...) Obvious thought to me is a slightly bent valve maybe? Ideas?
I did try to adjust dizzy on 2E engine but i cant shift it or adjust it? Should it adjust?

Welcome to the site.

I think you would be lucky not to have damaged anything, recheck the timing as a 1st step.

Thanks for reply, I did originally have the timing (oil pump/dizzy pulley 1 tooth out) but now aligned bottom pulley with arrow on cover, camshaft aligned, engine TDC....All looks good, only question should the rotor arm on dizzy be aligned exactly with notch on no 1 fire? (if that makes sense?)
Can the dizzy be moved/adjusted on 2E engine? Mine is stuck solid!!!

The dizzy needs to be moved in order to time the engine, so yes it looks like its stuck. Loosen the bolt right off and see if you can get some movement.
There was a similar thread not long back. If your engine HAS got away with it, then it answers the question that these engine ARE in fact clearance engines.

Well happy to report compression tested today, perfect MUST BE CLEARANCE ENGINES or Very very lucky!!! It is a 2E engine, was purely timing out!! Still unable to shift Dizzy, so had to move Tooth cam (oil pump/dizzy pulley) round 4 teeth, now running perfect....

Good news
