Did you run it?  Please say no!

If you haven't I believe you should be OK to just syphon the tank out     Refill it and be OK.  It's petrol in a diesel tank that's a true NO NO NO NO!!!

If you have run it then you might be in bother....  :undecided:

Siphon or undo a fuel line, easy peasy either way.

Then fit it up with a full tank of good petrol.

Most importantly... How much diesel?

a little diesel might just make it sluggish until it's out the system, if it's only a little brim the tank and carry on.

If you filled the tank, find a friend with a diesel car and undo the fuel lines and empty the diesel into Jerry cans and put it in his car and get him to bung you a tenner or two for a full tank, then get him to drive down to the garage with the Jerry cans and full them with petrol for you

As said petrol in a diesel is more of a problem as it perishes the seals.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

petrol in a diesel  is fine with some engines but it'll kill some, generaly the older ones don't care about a littel petrol some even go better after 10-15% they complain tho.

diesel buggers petrol fuel systems tho, it;s just delayed action tho, but most will forgive a one off of a gallon or so as long as it doset have a cat
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

If it has not been run you should be ok to drain out.

Mine was filled diesel once (no i didnt fill it). at least half a tank.

I drove down the road. Noticed white smoke out the exhaust. Engine spluttered and died.

Drained the diesel out. filled with petrol. Engine was running with abit of errort though.

ok thanks all ... well, spent sat trying to syphon it out, oh and i put 18 ltrs in, got fed up with wretching so on sun picked up a smart battery operated syphon thing from b+q, opened up the in tank lift pump and sucked up as much as possible, even jacked up the car to tilt the tank over, now slowly filling her up with 5 ltr at a time, fingers crossed she'll be back on the road today.
