elec windows

anyone good with auto electrics as i cant get
the windows to work on the gti . i had them working once but not been
able to get them working again and have checked the fuses and all seems
to be ok and auto electrics is something i know nowt about any help
whould be good

well looked again today and i havnt even got
power to the elec wing mirrors so dont think the any power is getting
to the doors looked at all the wires that connect to the doors and all
seem to be ok ????

do they work with the doors open?
could be wires getting trapped in the door grommets..? hth

may still be worth checking the door grommets, seem to be a commen area/source of this kind of problem!!
have ya had a search mate, it is one of those commen things to go wrong!!

but elec wing mirrors dont work ether and i can find the fuse for it all ??? anyone got a wiring diagram    eames589@hotmail.com

look in the maintenance section, there are wiring diagrams and troubleshooting posts.

Have you checked the thermal fuse? it will be a wiring fault otherwise.

how do i know if its the fuse thats has gone ?????????
