Just handed a cheque over for a DSG GTD...

Try google-ing DSG reliability.  Best general rule of thumb I saw was either pistonheads.com or maybe honestjohn.co.uk forums - DSG believed to be good up to 60K miles then possibly be concerned about ECU/gearbox replacement of £2-5K.  Probably not a huge risk but if you do mega miles or want to keep past the warranty it'd be a concern.

Thanks  -  I do about £10K miles per year but if what you say starts to be accepted as 'fact', might be harder to sell and faster depreciation with DSGs

DSG =

you could be right

Could be ? COULD BE ?

Seriously though, why would you want to buy a car that drives itself ? We have taxi drivers, bus drivers, chauffeurs to do all that for us should we need them, buy a manual dude and drive your car.

My heart tells me you're so obviously right  -  my brain tells me to move with the times and not to be a philistine  -but as enjoyment comes via the heart, I should follow my heart....Thnx
