where can you get stock engine blocks

i am going to build an engine from ground up but dont know where to find an engine block
i would like a new one...never used if possible
plan on doing a build thread to see how much hp i can get out of a 2.0 block
but if i cant find a 2.0 block then would be interested in looking at doing a tdi and finding a shell to put it in
i have a guy willing to spot most of the cost if i put his shop name on the car when its done
so this is not a dream question but a i need help please

this is the prob. i can use remanned ones but would prefer if i could find a company that has new

it's the opinion of meany engine builder that old blocks are better to use than new ones ( as long as nothing nasty has happend to it )

they settel a bit as stresses and stuff act on them, so you grt an old block, hot tank it than machene all the faces, tunnel bore the mains the rebore it square to that and imn theory that block will be then optimal and wont settel anymore so will stay spot on

never thought of it that way and being it would need to be machined out anyway for what i wanna do that would be great
so used block it is
