Wax differences
« on: 21 October 2009, 21:48 »
Could someone kindly explain the differences between a soft, medium and hard wax ?

What are the benefits of each ?

The amount of carnauba will generally determine how hard a wax is (100% would be a pure rock of wax lol)

Pretty much its how workable it is, do you prefer a harder or softer wax. Theoretically the harder wax will last longer as it will have more carnauba.

I and alot of other pro detailers layer the two ontop of sealants, 2 layers of hardwax and a layer of soft wax.
the hard wax will give you durability and the soft wax will give you an uber wet glossy shine.

no product on the market will have 100%canauber in as it would be impossible to apply it.

I'll do that then thanks. I think the supernatural is a medium/soft wax ? If so, what If I used some Dodo Juice Diamond White (Hard wax) then the Supernatural on top, would that be ok ?

I'm finding the Autoglym HD is working well for me, very easy to use & quite durable too.

im now jelouse

applying tip!!! make sure your applicator is damp not dripping wet but damp, it will help the wax go on smoother. apply thinly ie just enough to cover the panel:) dont cake it on as its a waste and sn is expensive stuff;)

have fun mate
