Got mine today...
« on: 21 October 2009, 00:05 »
I'm a newbie here so be gentle.

Got my new GTI today - black - RC510+dynaudio + some blueteeth... what a nice car..... took it out for a quick spin in the Peak District.. just so, so good to drive.

Anyway couple of issues :-
1. With the RC510 - using a 16GB SDHC mem card - takes forever to start-up ("please wait...").. and repeats this every time you enter the car - must be 5 mins at least.
2. Blackberry Bold 9000 - seems a bit flaky. Working now but doesn't inspire confidence.... had at least two hours where nothing was communicating...

Anyone amy ideas ?

Yep, it's the rules!
That's why I didn't do a thread when I picked mine up - didn't get chance to photograph it before it got dirty!

As for the RCD and Bluetooth problems, I'm sure someone techy will be along soon but first thing I'd do is get the dealer to have a look at it to make sure the radio unit isn't faulty being as the car is so very new.

Oh, welcome aboard BTW Nick.

Firstly welcome and i hope you enjoy your new car,as for the slow start up of your RCD510 i have a 2Gb sd card in mine with over twenty albums on it,it only take 10-15 secs maximum to start up ,perhaps you could try using more than one card but with a smaller capacity on each ?

Golfgti build quality is average at best.
