So no power untill 2000rpm then its run out again by 3500 rpm.

Its like a reverse vtec with a lower power band!

look at the BHP figure as well though and see how its maintained right to the end; in effect its almost have of the rev range

End of the day you hate diesels FACT and you're looking at the wrong graph  :rolleyes:

When you getting your MK4 by the way so we can laugh at your lack of power  :tongue:



All your precious torque is gone by 3400 rpm though and your left with about 170 bhp?

Not going to get a mk4. Just got a cheap place to rent till i buy my house meaning i save a further £500 a month, also my salary is going up so going to try and be car-less and put it towards a BMW 335i and a remap.

so how come people with Hybrid turbos are making 220-240 bhp and 350-370 ft/lb but your making 350 ft.lb on a standard turbo :undecided: what psi is it peaking at? surly it cant be good for the turbo or your intercooler pipe :lipsrsealed:

Do you not need to upgrade anything to go for a stage 2?  FMIC etc?

According to Nick the FMIC isn't really needed on the TDI for stage 2.

With the TDIs its all about using the fuel to higher the cylinder filling / volumetric efficiency of the engine, more fuel / smoke more power then then turbo is only there to clean the burn.  You can turn the boost up on a petrol turbo car and make good power gains without having to add fuel, but with a TDI if you just turn up the boost there wont me much of a gain until the extra fuel is added.
Adams is set to 1.7bar in the mapping with a 5% overboost deviation which combined with a nice rich pre boost fuel mix has given Adam 338lbft.  (there is still more room to go on the fuel to gain more power but no more room to go with the boost) we can add more fuel to get more power but it would be thick back stuff..

FMIC is not really needed for stage 2. But FMIC is on the cards within the next few months.

Steve- I think they said its peaking at 27? I need to fit a boost gauge.
