So taday went to my mate Chris's to pick up some part worns for the track car to see it through winter for it's odd VW meet. While there I asked him if he had any stereo key's as I've been suffering the left speakers cutting in and out. After fault finding it seemed to be related to the seperate CD unit as it only happens plating CD's and not the radio. Pulled it all out and checked the connects. While we were at it I mentioned I was going to look for 6 CD in dash changer unit to replace the single one it has at the moment and Chris said I could have the one he's taken out of his passat. Result! All fitted and working, sort of.

Still getting it cutting out on the left with the new unit but still only CD and not Radio. This leads me to think there's a connection problem from the CD unit. I've triple checked the plugs securely fitted so I'm starting to think there's a broken track on the board inside the unit as it only happens when the unit is warm after about 10 mins of use. Bugger.

No Afraid not mate, sorry.

No the GTI ones are Splits (and suffer really badly for peel). These are non split reps, they have a suffered a bit of peel but are easy to home refurb which I'll do in the spring.
