I really wouldn't bother with gasless.

Or CO2

Argoshield Light will let you produce good quality welds properly.

If I was buying a welder for bodywork I'd be looking further up the price brackets than that - for thin stuff like bodywork you NEED a good welder as you need excellent control over the unit.  Cheaper welders have poor control, so you're likely to blow holes.

Good luck with it.

+1 go for gas.

You'll go through those little bottles in no time, so get an account setup with BOC and get a biggun.

i use industrial gasses.

£60 at year for the bottel  + £27.50 for refills

when you conider those littel bottels only hold 60 ltrs of gas.  your going to be useing 6-10 ltrs minute    there only goood for 6-10 minutes welding  and they weep like hell anyway.

big bottels are much cheeper and your not worried about runnign out of gas so you don't get sh!t welds from skimping on gas.

i think CO2 has it's place but it will splatter like hell but it's incredibly cheep,  it's good for filling chassi rails ect to prevent fire's but as a primary sheild it's not very good for small welders, beig welder cope with it much better but welds arn't as nice as with argon
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

I get on fine with my gasless Mig!
I guess it depends on your skill level.

My mate has a mig with those little gas bottles and I find it totally different! Plus its harder if you use it outside as the wind affects it!

'those little bottles' are utter balls.  The difference between welding on a proper set up and those is like night and day.

If you're going gasless then man up and get an arc welder and do it properly.
