Down To Business

ok, if you red my first post on the noob forum, you shoud know dat im living in the US. So im trading in my 99 4cyl Jetta (Bora) and im getting clost to 8 thousand dollars for it. K so heres the problem, i have to choices to go from either a 2001 GTI GLX 2.8 174hp "OR" a 2002 1.8 turbo 180hp. Im more leaning toward the Vr6 Gti coz i heard its got more potenitial in the long run and the medioker run, plus its not a diesel. But the fact that made me turn was the fact that the little 4 banger was pumping out 180hp and in the short run would rule over the V6 with relativly small performance parts. The ony the other thing is price im on a budget of 15000, the GTI GLX 01 is 14 grand and the 02 1.8 is pushing a little over 15000. Its a big descision and alotta money for me too, so i dont really wanna c*ck up on my first real owned car!!!? 8) trusting you guys advice, the americans arnt to big on VW and dont realy dont know which way to send me.!! (doesnt include all of them) ;)

ANyone know how to change the poll its not a diesel no more just a petrol 1.8 Thanks!

I know "gas" is meant to be really cheap in the States, so the usual reasoning behind a diesel, is out of the window as far as I would be concerned. Also being a big fan of 6 cylinders, having owned several V^ or Straight 6 cars, I would go for the VR6.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

yer i found VWvortex, its pretty good, but when i signed up it never emailed me my password so i didnt really get to ask any q's. In the US the VW models are pretty limited they only sell 4 verisons of the golf/gti, the golf gl, golf gls, golf 1.8 diesel and the gti vr6.. in the old years 00 - 01 but there about the same in the newer years. Anyway question is even though diesel as 180hp and the old 01 has 174 is power still matched which ones better>??? i need alot of posts to decide and dont forget to vote!! on the poll
