My car sounds like a diesel

Oil level is fine, I've looked around the engine bay and the only problem is the split oil breather hose (I knew about this) and possibly the bung on my TIP:



Can someone confirm that the bung is meant to be right the way down?

The only 1.8t i've ever heard that sounded like a diesel died a few minutes later :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed:
His oil level was fine,but it turns out his oil pump wasn't and it starved his engine of oil.No warning light either :shocked:

Get it checked out asap.

I've no idea what it is?! It isn't as loud as diesel but can definitely hear something...

I don't know how much an oil pressure test is,but i'd get one done asap.If it's making diesel noises the damage is already done i'm afraid.

Had it on vag-com yet?

im sure VW do a full check of your car for £40 quid or so.. tell them about your prob they will hopefully be able to pin point it for you..  :wink:

im going to do the same as my cars making wierd buzzing sound seems change when use my heater so must be something do with that   :undecided:

Umm, I think it's just me being paranoid. There is a rattling sound but it's not loud at all.it may be from where I've had a fiddle around. I'm going to secure everything tomorrow morning and see how I go from there.
