stereo wiring problems

HELP!

trying to install stereo in my gti and come across something odd

red = live(constant)
Blue/white = (Dash Lights feed)
Brown = Neutral(Ground)
white/yellow might be orange as its a little faded = constant 5volts no more no less even when ignition is on and off.

is this the ignition feed? does a mk2 actually have one :S if its not the ignition feed does anyone know what it is?

that white and yellow i think is your memory, not sure where that goes myself

Connect the red to your heater switch wire (red and black)

thanks that seems a good idea live and neutral are fine there there along with the dash lights wire its just that third wire didnt no what the hell it was for and at 5v's its useless ill pull the heater switch out later and solder an extra cable to it for ignition live.
