about that... I put a new breather pipe on yesterday and the 14mm jubilee clip I had was too small... I would say the diameter of the pipe itself is about 14/15mm but the actual bit where the two pipes join in front of the engine block is about 20mm diameter as one has to encompass the other

i would go out and measure it.. but it is cold and pitch black outside

Nice one guy. It's just that I'm gonna be buying some tubing tomorrow at B&Q to make an oil catch can, and obviously need to know the thickness of the pipes. I shall let you all know how it goes. Cheers guys!

What mad hatched plan are you up to now?

Are you buying new pipes? If so why do you need the size? Just get the correct part!

The thing is, it basically returns the bad fumes and oil vapours into the intake system which is why your throttle body gets so gunked up.

Some people for better running, rather than return it to the air intake, block that off, and make it go into a catch tank.

This is what i am doing on the VR6.

oil catch can collects the oil that would normally go in the intake manifold and clog up the tb.
