Bargin or big mistake?
« on: 12 October 2009, 15:24 »
I've bought at vr6 1993 reg with 3 months tax and 9 months mot, 123000miles for £200.

The catch is it dosent start due to dodgy immobiliser, i think the coil is on its way out  and maybe the fuel pump.

Its in alright condition cosmetically like.

have i bought a shed or bargin????

Depends what the engines like when you do get it started, got to ask yourself why did previous owner sell it so cheap if its an easy fix?

How do you know the coil and fuel pump are playing up if the immobiliser is stopping it from starting??      Cheers      Deano

Good which ever way you go. Breaking it or fixing it. You can only make with that.

well i know the lad i've bought it off, he payed £950 for it  will he had it it wasrunning poorly and showing signs of the coil packing in.  there is also some fuel leaking from the fuel pump.

Tonight however i've managed to get the engine to turn over,so it looks like the immobilser has decided to work (for now) but it wouldn't fire

i'm thinking of getting a clifford specialist to remove the whole thing, at least then i know what im dealing with.
