Some GTI comparisons....
« on: 12 October 2009, 12:31 »
so dropped my manual black gti in today for a re-polish, and to my surprise instead of being given a sh1tty fox or polo i got given...a dsg white gti!  sweet!  anyway, thought i'd share a couple of things i've noticed:

1  never thought about having a white car before but have to say it looks the nuts.  v impressed.  i know some people say its a fad and that it will go out of fashion, however style never goes out of fashion.
2  stereo - this one has a rcd510 but without dynaudio - big mistake, having heard both now i'm even more pleased i upgraded to the dynaudio - the difference is v noticeable and its well worth the extra few quid.
3  dsg - not a fan of autos.  however, saying that i am v impressed with the dsg.  sport mode is v v good (still in 4th gear pushing 90) - not sure it would do the petrol consumption any good though!!  normal drive is dull as you like however, but saying that you really only use that for town driving in which case it does its job.  so i'm sort of changing my mind on the dsg a bit - but i still say a proper driver sticks with manual

Now then Matchboy! why is your lovely new GTI in for a re-polish already?  Is this something has to be done with the black cars or just something you fancied?

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?
