Actually I disagree, the cost of a car is not based on the cost of living in a country. Its based on how much the car company wants to subsidies as well as the tax structure in the country. The US car market is difficult to penetrate as they have a huge car industry themselves. So if a European car maker intends to penetrate that market, it has to make their cars attractive price wise. The cost of living in Malaysia is very low but a brand new Golf GTI costs RM255k which roughly translate to Euro51k...
