Well if they really believe its the wheels stopping it selling then its not unknown for dealers to simply change them by changing the spec of a customers car who wants 17s by ordering it with 18s on. Then doing a sly switcharoe when it arrives, seen this done more than once when there was a misbuild :wink:. or even order them as spare parts.
I think its more than simply the wheels stopping this car from selling.

I have a white 5dr with 17" parked on the drive but cant find my memory card for camera!! :angry:

Must admit i keep thinking did i do the right thing not getting the 18s this time round,  :huh: but then i remind myself of our monza IIs white worm, constant referbs, watching for even the slightest pothole incase it buckeled the inside of the wheel, the constant cleaning/waxing/lac checking and just remind myself how much easier life will be with the 17s. I will just have to keep telling myself that from past reviews the 17s are faster, lighter and more comfortable. If it had been 15-20 years ago when i was younger, a similar age to alot of the people on this forum it seems, then the looks of the 18s would have swayed me straight away but now.....
Photos don't help imo they make the 18s look bigger than in real life and the 17s look much smaller than they do in real life.

Agree with the Polo comment. The GTI NEEDS to be sitting on 18s. The 17 Monzas look awful compared to the 18s and thats coming from someone who had the 17s on his but got them replaced.

That looks mint! as i said before each to there own and i understand why people go for the 18's, but i prefered the monza 2's (think thats what they were called) on the mk5 to the shadows.

got my 19" ones sat in the garage... cant be bothered to change them though :undecided:
