Settle Down ?- new suspension

Hi,
Have had 16V J reg for a couple of months, but found the coil-overs a bit harsh plus trying to keep it standard.
Just had new Boge gas turbo struts x 4 and the standard (original) springs fitted along with new top mounts.
Ride height at rear ok but at front is too high (higher than my prevous 8v GTI).

Question: Is this normal and will it settle down and if not would Eibach springs with the Boge shocks be ok i.e ride comfort/ride height (not too low)

As front is way too high,is it possile that the 'mechanic' has put the spring cup up side down. Is this possible and would it give this very high ride height. Any thoughts appreciated.

Could be the wrong springs, 16v is lower than a 8v.

He hasnt put the caps on the wrong way up, you would definately know. Probably a case of one or all of the following being old/knackered or just plain not there: Rear spring mounting rubbers, rear strut mounting bushes or bump stops. I fitted some venom supplied spring lowering cups to the front of my own golf to get the front down a touch more but they do only take it down a smidge and can be a tad vocal over large bumps in the road.

Think springs (supplied with car-original ??) as you say maybe incorrect, they have 3 x grey and 1 x orange dots on (forum search suggest 16v = 2x grey and 1 x orange dots. Is this right.

Plan now is to get a set of Eibach springs (for 16v) which should go ok with the Boge turbo gas hopefully.
