Mine has an electric aerial, but I have see an cab with a bee-sting aerial mounted above the windscreen on the windscreen frame. Looked very neat, but probably not the best mod as I think you will be weakening the frame sustantially.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

if you want to avoid an ariel altogether it may be possible to get a windscreen ariel. it is like a heated window element wich runs roune the edge of the windscreen, my talbot samba cabrio has this (altough this was a manufacturer fitted thing) and it works very well. i also seem to remember an amplified unit which was available at one time this was fitted in the boot leaving no visible external ariel

Nice one Carrie, I was going to suggest a windscreen fitted one too. Has to be the best option for a cab doesn't it?

I installed an electric ariel in my cab a few weeks ago - a bloody nightmare to get installed under the wing as I have the protection covers on my front wings..... but really happy with it now...  8)   but the windscreen options sounds great, but isn't that expensive?

Not looked into it.......yet, but do plan to. Adam and Dizzie will probably be more knowledgeable in this area.

Might be worth a search in the 'Car Audio' section. I have a feeling this subject has been discussed before :-\

I had a "windscreen aerial" on a scirroco a gew years back, and wasnt really impressed with the quallity of it. It is a horizontally mounted aerial, and radio waves tend to be better suited to a vertical aerial, due to the polarity.
I mounted a new electric one on my wing last year, and to be fair, it wasnt really that difficult. Just remove a few screws from the plastic arch cover and it is accessable.
