A few things about detailing?
« on: 10 October 2009, 18:01 »
Hi all, I am by no means a detailer but I wanna get a good finnish on my car, and my dad wants to do his.

So I wash the car, clay it and then wax it? Or do I wash inbetween the claying and waxing part? Also my dads car has a few scratches and swirlls in the laquer where kids have been brushing close by to it, how could these be removed?

Also whats the best wax to use? My dad has bought some zymol wax last year ( the blue stuff that you sort of massage onto the car) is that the best as he was told or has he been bulled up?

A lot of questions but I know I am in the right place...

hello

welcome to the detailing section  :nerd:

if you have a look in the stickies /\ you'll find all the information you need

however.. the best thing you can do is clay.. it'll give you the best results in the quickest time

wash
clay
wash
wax

light scratch removal is best done by machine polishing

best wax to use is subjective and also dependent upon budget... a good wax for a relatively little amount is collinite 915 - have a looksee here... http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=9

and don't forget to use the forum discount code
