abf is 150bhp std
as i say i have std abf in mine and the sachs kit copes with it just fine, certainly a lot cheaper than that! choice is yours at the end of the day :)

Yeah , I have an ABF waiting to go in at some point when funds allow. Sachs clutch seems to cost about 500.00 from their website  But think that's the fancy "performance" one blah blah. Where did you get your one from may I ask? It's my birthday in a week and may ask for a clutch kit

Contact user Mattneck(Beavis) on here and he can sort you out. He got my sachs clutch for about £80 :)

yep matt is the way to go, or contact Veew service direct:
http://www.vwsonline.co.uk/car_parts_bristol/

the sachs kits are a bit more than comparable LUK kits, but they're actually better value for money since they come with new pressure plate bolts (these are use-once), proper clutch spline grease, release plate & spring.  LUK kits I've seen just have the basic pressure plate, friction disc and release plate.
I've not found anywhere that does the PP bolts on their own either, so VAG only!

PM'd mattneck(beavis) last night re sourcing a clutch kit. Also read his build thread too, pretty impressive.

RJ so I have to order pressure plate bolts from VW as they are not included in the sachs kit?

the sachs kits I'#ve had all had the bolts in, it was the LUK kits that didnt have em. confirm with mattneck tho! I got mine from AVS in the past, but VWS ones prob the same :)

Spoke to VW other day and they advised that OEM clutch (pressure plate) went obsolete 12/09  Merd. They said it'd have to be after market. Had no response from Mattneck via pm. Haven't a huge amount of time at the mo. But car is in getting a waterpump/ timing belt today.
