K&N or Pipercross?
« on: 09 October 2009, 17:46 »
As said, which panel filter is best? I would have thought K&N but would just like to here some opinions

How bad does it effect the MPG btw?

Rtech recommended me pipercross, so I got one. Comes pre-oiled and is foam not cotton.

Doesn't the oil do bad things to the MK4's MAF?
Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge", auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

So I heard, but I've had no problems with mine and I've been using it for about 6 months or so.

Ive hurd about the oil aswel, thats one of the thigs putting me off pipercross the only other thing is the fast its foam and the K&N is the honey comb effect and wont be as hard to clean with it being solid?

I have a pipercross foam filter and find it easy to clean, warm soapy water, rinse, allow to dry then spray that pipercross stuff that makes the dirt stick.

I think they are only problematic if you over oil them. Pipercross is next on my list to do. From Reading on here, I think most people would recommend Pipercross.

I use a different oil for my filter, an oil that my dad used on his racing endurance bike.

But yes as Stronz said, they only cause problems if you over oil them.
