Mine doesn't work, was wondering if it was a common fault and how easy is it to fix?

try another set of gauges matey. I might have a spare 16v gauge that you could just swap over? It's back at my old's though. I'll be popping up there soon so I'll try and remember it.

Follow the instructions in this thread it details how to remove the cluster in order to change the bulbs in it:
