G60 Limited spec questions

hi, I would like to know a few things about the Golf G60 Limited in standard original spec. I've done a bit of research but still need the following confirming:

1) The wheel size and offset (I believe they were BBS RM's with a 0.5 lip making them 6.5 x 15? ET33 but would like to confirm this) also were the lips polished?

2) Tyre size (195/50/15 or 205/50/15?)

3) Colour of car (shade of black or gunmetal grey?)

4) Did they have flared front arch trim like the standard G60?

5) Did they have flared rear arch trim or just standard arches at the back?


If anyone can answer any of these it would be great, cheers!

That's great thanks. It's interesting that it says they were black, as elsewhere I've read they were gunmetal grey. I suppose the paint code would solve this if I could find that out!

I'm sure I've seen a photo somewhere which shows both dark grey and black G60 LTD's. Here you go:



No idea  how many were built in each colour though.

Oh, and I'm looking at an article from Autocar & Motor dated Oct 11 1989 which says the wheels are 6.5" wide with 195/50R15 Pirelli P600's. And in 1989 the price of one of these things was £22,570. (I bought my GTI in '89 and that cost me about £14K fully loaded, for reference).

EDIT: the arch trims were standard small-bumper width. Cars built in 1989 were LB7V graphite grey and in 1990 LP9V metallic black - I think.

70 were built officaly  tho there are rumors there were 71,  all 5 door except 2 apparently

Anyone know if the arch trims are bigger like on the standard G60? They look like standard GTI size ones to me.?

I think unless you can get hold of some official VW specs (or find a limited geeks website) there's always going to be some inconsistancies with t'internet information.
