Just a random guess here! but when the car changes hands don't you say how many miles its done at date of transfer? Surely some one would of spotted it otherwise?

Do you know if its undergone an engine swap? the old engine did 138k then a new one was put in that did 73k?

I will have this issue putting the vr in, he engine has done less miles by half, it needs new clocks to go to 169mph. So it will look clocked. But I will tell the new owner if it came to selling it.

Personally I reckon it's clocked. As new dials for the old one failing involves new transponder keys and ecu, or it ring Deimobilised.

But I well! It's in your favour come sell time. Life goes on.

Mikester, why don't you get someone to change the mileage to what the engine has covered?

I bought a second set of clocks but because I didnt want to pay £80 to get them reset took em out again!

I realised that was the obvious answer but if that was the case it should have had a SORN notice which should also show up.
As some may know I have a Pug Mi16 in my garage for the last 4 years! No MOT but always been SORN'd

I didnt have any issues, just changed the clocks, no need to change anything else!

Mikester, why don't you get someone to change the mileage to what the engine has covered?

your missing the point, the new clocks come from
a vr6. They are different to 8v clocks hence needing to swap the
. And so the new clocks with the new engine miles won't be the same as the cars miles on the last mot. Making it look clocked.
