smug newer golf owners lol
« on: 06 October 2009, 20:33 »
do you ever get smug new golf owners when your on your travells in your mk3?  i often get lads around the same age in mk5 - mk6's trying to give it some, loving them selves because they have the car you have but 11 years newer  but to be faire most other golf drivers m1,2,3,4,5 or mk6 i find are great! there usually let me out at junctions etc generally quite plessent as they see you as another golf owner, but do get ocasional smug git thinking there better than you because your car is old lol

got agro when I used to have a mk2 16v running about 180bhp on an f plate. I used to love humiliating mk5's in that when they first came out. Miss the car like hell now. Never got any attitude in my mk4 gti-t when I had that though and don't get it in my mk3 either.

I have a lot of VW owners let me out as they see a nice example of a MK3 but there are some tossers who think they are better because they have a newer car, but hey ho, that's the way the world goes round sadly. :(

I find that most mk5/6 gti owners only have them as status symbols and are frightened of the power and are never agressive unlike mk4 owners.

Doesn't work like that around here unfortunately.

They see a modified car driving along at 60mph so they think "oh ffs another chav" so they pull out in front of you and then sit at 40mph to piss you off.

In these cases I decide to sit on their rear bumpers, they get scared and pull over to let me past

Think on this.

If you bought a Mk5 2 years ago you will have lost at least £6k in depreciation
If you then buy a Mk6 and drive it for say 6 months you have lost another £4k.

Would any sane person be happy to lose £10k?
