VW took the MK5 they changed the design of the outer panels, put in a an updated interior and revised parts of the engine. it is more than 50% MK5 and is not an new car. Thereof underneath it's new frilly skirt it's still the same old car.

Imagine a girl, lets call her Karen, she's 5'10", 32C, blonde and amazing in the sack. her rich botfriend pays for to have plastic surgery and a make over. She's now 5'10", 36DD, brunette and still amazing in the sack. She's not a new person though is she? She's still the same old Karen underneath, just tighter, bigger and a bit mor efun in the sack with her improved hooters.

I will say yes. It's what I believe because it is documented fact and is what VW told the press when it was launched. Even your fellow MK6 owners (other than matchboy) agree with this. They are facts, they are not conjecture, myth, rumour or hearsay.

If you would like to know why they did it, it's simple economics. The MK5 was expensive to build and was starting to lose ground to the comeptition. They wanted to bring the MK6 forward but were unable to do so quickly enough. Therefore they revised the MK5 and launched it as the MK6 to keep them in the game until the proper mk6 (now the MK7) is ready for launch late 2011.

I'm clearly never going to get you to see what I'm trying to explain and I'm not going to waste anymore of life discussing it with you. I'm still at aloss as to why you have taken such offence to it all though as believe or not I'm huge Golf GTI enthusiast and love all Golfs, I certainly have nothing against MK6's or their owners.
