The 'art' of modifying is to enhance your car without making it look like it crashed into a branch of Halfords. IMO a well modified car will make people to a double take, because they think "hey, that one's different, isn't it... or is it?".

But with such things 19" wheels and R-line bumpers available from the factory, it's becoming more difficult to be individual and remain subtle. So apart from a spot of lowering and perhaps some BBS wheels, I don't think I'll be doing much to my next Golf.

Hehe, thanks for that. I'm afraid, however, that it's just a PhotoShopped image. Never mind, though, at least their heart is in the right place

I agree that 95% of the mods on that clip are absolutely ghastly. I have done a few tweaks on my car since I got it, but they're all but invisible (LED interior lights, remap, headlight bulbs) so as to retain the factory look and I am the only one who will ever know they're there... well, apart from you lot

Sorry Frog I know you said before but I can't find the thread again but did replacing your headlight bulbs make a significant difference?
Cheers.

TBH, no. But I had a pair of Philips Super Mega Power Vision Night Blaster things spare, so I thought I'd put them in. I do very little night time driving in the Golf anyway, so I'm not that bothered. IMHO, the interior LED upgrade is more worthwhile and certainly more noticeable.

Hi frogti, i see you have changed the interior lights of your gti to LED's - what kind / make of bulbs did you buy and where is best to purchase? How many of the interior lights did you change?
Thanks

Maybe I'm alone here, but I really don't like that mish-mash above... :undecided:
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?
