As per the title, the Golf R is now configurable on volkswagen.de - and so you can see the full options list!
The best surprise for me is that they're doing the Talledega wheel in a 19" Black option

If anyone is intersted, the Roc R is also there too!

I wouldn't hold out too much hope of them making it across the North Sea though.  IIRC the mkv's had an option for black monza's (called detroits) but that was never an option this side of the drink.  The Germans keep all the good things for themselves.

Was an option on the Ed30. But can someone explain to me the desire/trend to have black wheels? I can achieve the same effect with a little heavy braking and neglect.

Personally I've been wanting black wheels for well over a year now!  I was just away to buy them for my ED30... and then some idiot wrote it off for me!  If black wheels aren't an option on the R, then I'll either be powder coating the originals, or buying some aftermarket ones... in black or a very dark grey.  I see they're not an option on the Roc R.
I don't know why I like them... I just do!

They didn't appear on the ED30 options list over here - but I think you could ask the dealer nicely and get them instead!
Hopefully that'll be the case with the R.

I think thats the rising blue colour that everyone is moaning about not being on the options list!
Its odd, becuase the brochure has it as a colour.  Its obviously going to be added to the website later.  Maybe it'll be available by the time it makes it to the UK?

ok cool  but im not so sure its rising blue I think its another type of blue,I think the one you are talking about is the blue that was on the GTI-R at Frankfurt. The blue im talking about is the blue that was at Geneva this year when VW showed off the MK6 GTI "concept" for the first time.

That was one of the special order colours - it's either Techno blue pearl (used previously on the Beetle) or Mercato blue metallic (used on the Bora). But I haven't been able to confirm which one.

In Germany you can pay about 2000 Euro and choose from a much wider range of colours.
