a few newbe questions

hi all,
just got myself a black 16v gti on a n plate,130,000 miles in good nick..........but i have a few questions,

on the mot there's the following advisorys:

1, nearside and offside front macpherson struts have slight movement at the upper attachment..is this something simple to fix???/could i do it mysefl??what ae they??suspension??
2, nearside and offsidee rear wheel bearings have slight play...can these be adjusted??or is it new sets????

pease forgive me if im sounding stupid....i have not really tinkered with cars before..spent the last 20yrs on motorbikes

welcome to the site,

the first failure is an easy fixw, just need new top mounts (20quid for pair) the second will need a new wheel bearing (not sure how much these are..)

Hi.. not major problems to put right there as shepgti say's..

+1 if not too bad yes the play can be adjusted out.

bloody nora.. that sound sjust like my mot advisorys from last week..

both sides have play on mcpherson strets one bearing needs tightening, lol..

i have a fe more though that need doing..
