If its timed up correctly as you say, then the fault cleared and you can rev over 5k then it comes back again with a fault and wont go over 5k then your hall sensor or dizzy is borked !! To get the hall sensor off the dizzy is long winded and its much easier to just buy another dizzy !!

I got your PM and the specification values I posted won't throw an error like vagcom is showing on yours, mine were mm adjustments to bring into the specification values. Even before I adjusted it, it would still rev over 5k and throw no errors, something is causing it to go well out of spec to throw an error in Vagcom....

Dizzy is easy to fit, the hardest part is getting to old one off as 10 years of rust around the base etc etc..

The way I did it is as followed !!

1. Remove oil breather pipe near the cam belt cover.

2. Remove Cam belt cover.

3. Remove spark plugs (Makes it easier to turn the engine to TDC)

4. Turn engine until TDC is reached using mark on camshaft and head as your TDC mark.

5. Remove dizzy cap and your rotor arm should be pointing to the mark on the edge of the dizzy.

6. Draw a line on the dizzy base and engine block to mark the position yours was in.

7. Unplug Hall sensor and remove dizzy base clamp bolt and clamp.

8. Gently tap dizzy with a hammer to lossen it free from the rust (takes a while) then remove dizzy.

9. With the new Dizzy make a mark in the same position on its base like your old one and then slot new dizzy in so the markings you made on your engine block and on the new dizzy line up. As your lowering it into position with your markings in line turn the rotor arm slightly to the right or its correct position so as it then is inserted it will then go into the correct position.

10. Once dizzy is in secure base clap with bolt and then put everything back in the reverse order.

The point I was making about mine being out of spec was I ran vagcom once the new one was on and 2 of the hall sensor measuring block values were slightly out so I undone the clamp and adjusted 1mm counter clockwise and it was then on the limit of the 2 specs so I adjusted it another 1mm and then it was bang within the middle of the 2 measuring block values see below.

Before slight adjustment

1 Co-ordination ( Specification 57 - 60 or 1.0 )  Mine reads 2.0   << Slightly Out
2 Co-ordination2 ( Specification 5 - 8 )  Mine reads 9.0  << Slightly Out
3 Altitude Correction ( Specification 0.85 - 1.15 ) Mine reads 1.12
4 Operating Conditions ( Specification 00000000 ) Mine reads 00000000

After adjustment

1 Co-ordination ( Specification 57 - 60 or 1.0 )  Mine reads 60
2 Co-ordination2 ( Specification 5 - 8 )  Mine reads 7
3 Altitude Correction ( Specification 0.85 - 1.15 ) Mine reads 1.12
4 Operating Conditions ( Specification 00000000 ) Mine reads 00000000

If you were local I'd could guide you on how to do it if your not that confident...
