VW dealer = no clue. Average standards for the averange car buyer (i.e. low).

Car enthusiast = do it yourself or pay a specialist to do it properly.

That goes for detailing it, servicing it, repairing it.

so, took my car in today and the dealer couldn't have been nicer - even gave me his gti as a courtesy car which saved my (non-existant) street cred from diminishing any further by having a fox!  haven't been able to see if they did a better job this time as no sun to test it, however i will say it looked like a mirror and it may just be my mind playing tricks on me but it looked much better than when i first picked it up!  only time will tell, the pro who cleans my car will give his expert opinion on it all on friday!  fingers crossed!

They dont use a machine so they will have used a silicone based filler.

Give it a week and it will look awful again,

Wish people would read up on things first, you have paid them to ruin your paint!

Dont know how many times ive said this but

DONT GET LIFESHINE OR ANY OTHER DEALER BASED PAINT PROTECTION - ITS CRAP!

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?
