« on: 20 September 2004, 20:22 »
Hi there chaps ive got a mk4 2.0 ltr gti, I have done sum mods on it like , exhaust, air filter, boost valve but i want more power. How much would or if I can have a super charger slapped on it or a turbo.?

2ndly they come standard as 115bhp but with my mods i.e exhaust, filer, an boost valve could any one tell me how much I have increased it by.?

Cheers my fellow vw lovers  ;)

with the above mods youve done id say youd prob be at about 125 ish bhp, if you were to get a chip/remap you could be around 130bhp, you could get more by having a differrent cam banged in and some gasflow on the head but that would be costly, im sure there are turbo/supercharger conversions out there but you would have to start thinking wether its worth doing these or selling car and buying a 1.8t or getting a 1.8t conversion ????

Have to agree with gaz, sell it, buy a 1.8T. It'll be a lot cheaper in the long run, and more reliable.
If you're still not happy with the power, you can always then have it chipped.

I would of though a modded 2.0 gti would of a similar cost to a standard 1.8 150bhp.

Thats if you've told your insurance about the mods, tut tut?
